Privacy note (POPIA)
uWize is run by MarLan / Nico J Landman, Johannesburg. We keep as little as we can.
What we keep
- Getting ready for varsity needs no account and collects nothing from learners. We count how many times each post is opened, as a number per post per day, with no names, addresses or cookies. Institutions that register give an institution name, a contact person and a contact email.
- Listing details that suppliers send us, such as name, contact details, description and payment records, so we can show and manage their listing.
- If a student makes an account, with their consent: their email, a hashed password, and whatever they choose to put on their profile (including an optional photo). Profiles are private until the student changes that. If a student accepts a Vibe request, that person can email them at their sign-up email, even if it is hidden on the profile; nobody else sees it, and uWize sends no emails itself. The student can download their profile or delete the account at any time, and deleting removes it from our database.
- Counts of how many times each section is opened and a contact is shown, per day. These are totals only. We do not store names or IP addresses with them.
What we do not keep
- No health data. Wellness listings are contacts only, and the optional wellness link goes to a separate service, and we do not see what you share there.
- We do not sell data and we do not use medical scheme member data.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your details. Suppliers can update their card with their private link. Students can edit, download or delete their profile on My profile. Contact nico@marlan.africa.
